Belgian payment reality is simple: you deposit with the Bancontact card or the app, with a bank transfer as the only way out. The rename from Payconiq to Bancontact Pay dates from March 2026.
Bancontact Pay limits to €1500 per operation and €2500 per 24 hours. What you deposit is there right away; between request and account sit usually one to three banking days, with the operator's own turnaround on top.
Signup, KYC and support
Opening an account varies little: your real details plus a KYC check before any money leaves. An ID and something that evidences your address usually suffice. Paying from someone else's account always creates problems.
